Beach weddings are a favorite among couples looking for a casual, outdoor setting for their big day. Truly, there’s something magical about saying “I do” with your toes in the sand and the ocean as your backdrop. You might think that the best beach wedding venues require a flight and a passport—but it turns out there are plenty of fabulous beach venues right here in the U.S. While these locations are a bit harder to find than, say, barn venues, there are certain U.S. spots that have an abundance of beaches where you can wed. Whether you’re looking for a local venue or open to a destination wedding, there are plenty of beach wedding venues to choose from.
These are the top U.S. destinations for beach wedding venues so you can start planning the wedding of your dreams.
*Note: There are beach wedding venues in other parts of the country, as well—be sure to check out WeddingWire’s venue directory to find one in your area.
Delaware
From Bethany to Rehoboth, Lewes to Dewey Beach, there are lots of popular beach towns in the First State. You’ll find laid-back settings, nautical country clubs, and lots more in Delaware, including the relaxed and intimate Addy Sea Bed & Breakfast, the aptly-named Big Chill Beach Club and Event Deck, and the modern and grand Lighthouse Cove Event Center.
Miami, Florida
South Florida is known for its gorgeous beaches, and its amazing array of beach wedding venues, as well. And because the weather in Florida is relatively gorgeous year-round, you’ll be able to host a beach wedding at pretty much any time of year. A few of our favorite beach venues in the Miami area include the Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort, Royal Palm Island, and Acqualina Resort & Spa.
Florida Panhandle
The more northern Panhandle region of Florida, with such locations as Destin, Panama City Beach, Miramar Beach, and more, is an ideal location for a casual beach destination wedding. Several of these venues, like the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa and TOPS’L Beach and Racquet Resort, also have lodging options so your guests can stay in the same place for an action-packed wedding weekend.
Maine
If you’re getting married in the summertime or early fall, Maine is a fabulous destination for beach weddings—and lobster rolls, of course! We love that many of the beach wedding venues in Maine have a preppy, nautical feel, settings that combine a garden feel and a beachy vibe, and have some truly spectacular views. Examples include the Union Bluff Hotel, Linekin Bay Resort, the ViewPoint Hotel, and French’s Point.
Cape Cod, Massachusetts
Cape Cod is a popular seaside vacation spot in New England, and certainly makes for a fabulous beach wedding location. You’ll find both laid-back and luxurious beach wedding venues in Cape Cod, with a vibe that screams classic Americana. The Wychmere Beach Club, Ocean Edge Resort, and the Chequessett Yacht and Country Club all have incredible waterfront properties for your big day.
Orange County, California
Whether you grew up in the area or just watched a lot of Laguna Beach, you probably know that Southern California has some of the most incredibly gorgeous beaches in the country. So when it comes to beach wedding venues, the O.C. has many spectacular spaces to choose from. And because California is known for its year-round sunny skies, you can host most of your wedding outdoors (with indoor options just in case) at such venues as the Huntington Bay Club, Casa Romantica, and the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort.
Oahu, Hawaii
Hawaii is a popular destination wedding location, especially for those living on the West Coast. Couples and their guests love the friendly Aloha spirit, the delicious food, the amazing traditions, and of course, the spectacular beaches and scenery. The island of Oahu is a particular favorite for its array of tropical waterfront and beach wedding venues, including Paradise Cove, Hawaii Polo Club, and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. These and many other beach wedding venues on Oahu are truly a photographer’s dream.
Outer Banks, North Carolina
The Outer Banks region of North Carolina combines a laid-back beach vibe with abundant Southern charm. From Corolla to Kill Devil Hills to Nags Head, you’ll find a variety of beach wedding venues that your guests will love. The Hilton Garden Inn Outer Banks Kitty Hawk-Pier House, the Village Beach Club, and the Sea Ranch Resort, are just a few of our favorites.
Jersey Shore
Not far from the hustle and bustle of New York City and Philadelphia, the Jersey Shore provides an escape for city dwellers looking for a beach wedding venue that doesn’t require a plane ticket. Not only does the Jersey Shore offer a variety of beach wedding venues, many of them have won Couples’ Choice Awards for their top-notch service, including Windows on the Water, the Cape May Convention Hall, and The Breakers on the Ocean.
Charleston, South Carolina
There are several beach towns a short drive’s away from Charleston, including Myrtle Beach, Kiawah Island, Isle of Palms, Johns Island, and more. Your guests can enjoy Charleston’s many attractions (and the food!), while celebrating your wedding weekend at a nearby beach. From the Seabrook Island Club on Johns Island to the Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms, to the Doubletree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront, you’re sure to find a beach venue that fits your style in South Carolina.
